Each segment introduces different critical components of a Night Vision Imaging System (NVIS) Program:
- NVIS Program Planning
- ITAR & Regulations
- Equipment
- Training
- Maintenance
- Integrating NVGs into your operation to enhance safety during night flight operations.
- Maintaining an ITAR compliant NVG program.
- Acquiring the correct NVG equipment to meet the applicable regulatory guidance.
- Training products and services to support all of your NVG training needs.
- Maintenance requirements for the continued airworthiness for NVGs and NVIS modified aircraft.
Presenters:
Session 1: NVIS Program Planning Overview
Successful implementation of an NVG program requires planning. This portion of the program provides an overview of the NVG lifecycle.
Presenter: Adam Aldous
Session 2: ITAR & Regulations
The sale, use, and control of NVGs are restricted by the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). This portion of the program focuses on the compliance requirements of an NVG operator and/or user.
Presenter: Randy Rowles
Session 3: Equipment
The modification of an aircraft for NVG compliance can prove to be a daunting task. With many NVG lighting OEMs to choose from, a thorough understanding of the different types of modification techniques and procedures is needed. This portion of the program focuses on NVG aircraft modification by referencing regulatory requirements, industry best practices, and procedures for the continued airworthiness of an NVG modified aircraft.
Presenter: David Luke
Session 4: Maintenance
For safe and effective NVG operations, a regulatory compliant maintenance program may not be enough. The continued airworthiness of NVG modified aircraft is misunderstood and often not included in the planning stages of an NVG program. This portion of the program focuses on the maintaining of NVG aircraft and equipment. We will take a look the instructions for continued airworthiness (ICA) requirements for NVGs, aircraft modified for NVG use, and the “what-to-do” when NVG modified equipment need repair or replacement. This course will also cover how to inspect an NVG modified cockpit to ensure continued NVG compatibility after time in service.
Presenter: David Luke
Session 5: Training
A poorly trained pilot or maintenance technician is just as dangerous as a poorly maintained aircraft. This portion of the program focuses on the training required to be a safe and effective NVG pilot and/or maintainer. In addition, we will introduce NVG training products available to enhance existing NVG training programs.
